About Project Management:

The Project Management Department is a subdivision of the General Administration of Projects and Facilities. It is primarily responsible for planning the operational framework for infrastructure and construction projects across all University of Jeddah campuses and branches—including the architectural design of administrative and academic buildings, centers, and public university facilities. Additionally, the department oversees project execution, monitoring, and completion, striving to align with the university’s vision, aspirations, and strategic plans in pursuit of sustainability and prosperity.

First: Department Objectives:

1. Developing mechanisms for supervising the execution of construction projects—based on high-quality and innovative standards—that contribute to the improvement and development of the university's facilities.

2. Monitoring execution operations with contracting companies before, during, and after construction and renovation, while ensuring compliance with all safety and quality requirements and the safety of execution activities.

3. Leading the planning and management of university project execution by applying methodological practices that align with local and global standards in the field.

Secondly: Administrative Tasks

1. Preparing designs, plans, specifications, bills of quantities, and documentation for construction and restoration projects at the university.

2. Supervising and monitoring the execution of construction and renovation projects across their various stages—in accordance with terms, specifications, and execution drawings—and verifying the quality and quantities of materials in compliance with technical and engineering standards and applicable government regulations and directives.

3. Aligning projects undertaken at the university with its strategic plans and the vision of the modern Saudi university.

4. Identifying and determining negative aspects during project execution, and taking corrective and preventive actions to address them.

5. Technically monitor all project activities in coordination with the consultant and the implementation monitoring team; participate in the site handover committee to hand over the site to the contractor on the scheduled date; and prepare the handover minutes using the designated form.

6. Organizing and filing project documents—including proposals, contractor contracts, consultancy studies, reports, and digital and statistical data—according to a classification and arrangement system.

7. Measuring and reviewing performance indicators—both at the level of actual operational projects and for the administration as a whole—and evaluating their alignment with plans and expected deliverables.
